News Alert: Obama "burns" $535 Million

"Newly released documents show that a Silicon Valley investor and senior administration officials warned the White House against having President Obama visit the solar company Solyndra in May 2010 because of its mounting financial problems, saying he might be embarrassed later.
Obama’s Energy Department had provided Solyndra with a $535 million government-backed loan and wanted to highlight the investment to show taxpayers how their stimulus dollars had been put to work. Top administration officials concluded that while a visit posed political risk, it was appropriate. Obama ultimately appeared at the factory and praised the company, which collapsed in late August and is now under federal investigation."
Posted on Washington Post earlier this afternoon, this article outlines one of many errors our current president has committed.  $535 million dollars wasted on an alternative energy company now under federal investigation.  Jobs creation and change is not what the current president has accomplished.

It is time for the citizens of our country to make a statement.  If you aren't registered to vote, get registered. Find out where your voting location is and make every effort to remove the current president from his office and make way for a real leader, not a rock star.

Have a wonderful day.

Capital Metro Rail is a Blunder

Capital Metro has had much lighter ridership for its Monday-to-Friday rush hour service during the line's six weeks of existence — about 1,000 a day since fares began, officials said.
Disclaimer: I hate Capital Metro.

If you had a chance to read the paper today, you will read the above quote. Are you kidding me? This train doesn't pay for itself. Austin is not dense enough to even have rail, but someone thought it would be a good idea to waste money.

Sell the trains. Stop wasting money on a money pit. Take away the Capital Metro tax money they receive and tell them to earn some money.

Get rid of Capital Metro.

This concludes my rant.

"Tiger Woods' apology: sincere or staged?"

This question has been posted or said in so many places since yesterday's press conference.

Who cares.

Leave the man and his family alone. He made a mistake and apologized; let him work it out with his family and get back on the golf course as soon as possible!

Find something else to report.

This concludes my rant. Thanks.

Save the Tax Dollars and Photoshop It!

According to "military officials estimated that the mission and photo shoot, aimed at updating file photos of Air Force One, cost about $328,835 in taxpayer money."

I am uncertain as to why this was worth the money or fear that this stunt caused NYC citizens. Maybe it is just more evidence the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

If you need to update your file, please let me know, I would be more than willing to photoshop this picture in order to update your file for half of what was spent.

This concludes the rant. I hope everyone is having a great week. God Bless.

Way to Go Astros: Mike Hampton Rant

I liked what Ed Wade did in Philadelphia (he helped build the 2008 World Series team), but is Mike Hampton going to help the bullpen or bring it down? Let’s take a look at a brief summary of his last 9 seasons:

In 1999, Hampton had his last and best season with the Astros winning 22 games with a 2.90 ERA. He has spent 4 years on and off the injured reserve list between 2004-2008. He did not pitch in 2006 and 2007. Last season he was 3-4 with the Braves, and only played 4 months.

At $2 million plus incentives (the possible contract with the Astros), I sure hope Hampton is worth the money. I think the Astros are making a bad move, but I guess we will have to wait and see. I say Hampton will not help the Astros.

Rant About a Letter to the NFL Commissioner

In letter to Roger Goodell, the NFL Commissioner, 13 elected officials in Washington D.C are asking the NFL to provide free games to those in the “home city.”
"The policy leaves behind NFL fans across the country simply because they live outside cities to which the NFL has granted franchises," according to the letter from Senators Specter(R), Leahy(D), Reed(D), Whitehouse(D), Domenici (R), Enzi(R), Barrasso (R), Lieberman(I), Durbin(D), Salazar(D), Sanders(I), Allard(R), and Thune(R).
I am appalled!

I don’t completely agree with the NFL Network and do not think “buying” games is cool, but can the federal government to tell someone else how to run their business? The NFL is about making money, they can do whatever they want with their product. If the NFL wants to make all the games Pay-Per-View; than it is their choice.

Let’s take the WWE for example: Once a month the wrestling organization hosts a Pay-Per-View extravaganza, thereby blocking viewers from the “sport,” similar to what the NFL Network does. This effectively blocks two types of people: people who don’t have an avenue to purchase (those with basic cable or an antenna) and those who actually have to spend the $29.99 to pay for the event. What if the senators asked the WWE to allow those in the host city the Pay-Per-View event “free access” because they are hometown fans? Sounds like they wouldn’t be making money, but instead giving away a product they promote in order to make money.

Maybe I am over-reacting and/or don’t know what I am talking about, but I read these and see “government control.” I am all about free-access, but if the NFL or the little man on Main Street wants to allow smoking in his place of business, it is the owner’s decision, not anyone else. If they start losing business because no one is buying, than they will have to change the technique.

This will conclude my rant about how 13 US Senators should get back to work “rescuing” us from the recession, leave the NFL and other business owners alone and keep gas prices low.

Have a wonderful day.
