A Little Background on the July 4th Birth

Originally back in October the doctor estimated that we would have Landon in early July. After several other appointments and various tests it was determined he would be due on July 20th. Therefore we scheduled a c-section for July 14th.

On Friday, July 3rd, Kari began experiencing contractions. We called the doctor several times to figure out how we would know when the best time to go to the hospital would be. We were told to write down how long in between contractions and how long each one lasted. Once they reached 5 minutes apart and lasting for about a minute for an hour, than we should go to the hospital.

The contractions continued through the night. With one phone call to the doctors office and several to my mother in law, Ruth, at approximately 6:00am we decided it was time to go to the hospital. We hurriedly made preparations; packed our bag and gathered cameras, etc. (since he was 10 days early we had not already done these things). I remembered that I left my camera at the office so before leaving campus I ran into the office to get the cameras, just in case (still believing we weren't having the baby).

Our hour drive allowed for a perfect time to see what the contractions were doing. She had been contracting for almost 24 hours, but there was no pattern. The pattern formed on the way to Round Rock. As we watched the clock the contractions were hitting 5 minutes apart and lasting for one minute. We found out our doctor was on call and we arrived at 7:30am.

We were quickly taken upstairs to labor and delivery where the nurses monitored and reported to our doctor for about 30 to 45 minutes. Before the doctor came to see us one last nurse measured her cervix; Kari was already sitting at 4cm. Now it is not uncommon for someone to be 4cm and not deliver immediately, but our doctor came in and advised we have him on July 4th. Without hesitation because of the pain and because we were ready to meet our bundle of joy, we advised the doctor to proceed.

At about 9:15am they wheeled Kari back to the ER and I waited patiently in the room for a nurse to come and get me. I had some trouble getting all my gear on and even tore one for the shoe covers (they should put arrows on those things or at least have someone help you put them on). We went back to the ER and the doctor was ready to go.

9:53am Landon Jeremy was delivered. I watched as the doctor removed him from my wife's belly. She proudly showed him off to Kari and I. I witnessed the cleaning and first diaper; in addition the weighting and measuring. The pediatrician showed Landon to Kari than handed him to me. We waited with Mommy behind the sheet as the doctor finished the procedure. Mommy immediately showered him with kisses and glowed with happiness at the sight of our baby boy.

By 10:30am we were back in our room with Landon. He doesn't cry much and loves to be wrapped tight in his blanket. He enjoys snuggling with his Mommy and we already treat him like our little prince. He makes several funny faces and even has this half smile face. There are two dimples, one on each side of his face and two little dimples under his bottom lip (which we have noticed that both my brothers have these dimples).

Kari's parents and siblings and my Pop, Donna and Brooke were in the waiting room ready to meet Landon. We took a few minutes and than Kari began vomiting. This last for about 4 hours, but she has not thrown up since. Many family and friends have already come to visit and welcome Landon to the family. Thanks to everyone who's dropped by, called us, sent us a text message, wall post or whatever other form of communication...Thanks to everyone for your love and support. We look forward to introducing each of you to Landon shortly and expect to be out of the hospital by Tuesday morning.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers. This morning Landon gets a shot and circumcised. I am not looking forward to this painful experience, but believe it is necessary for our baby.

Stay tuned to Insert Title Here for more pictures and possibly some video. If you want to drop a comment, please feel free.

God Bless.

The Countdown is On...

Here is just a glimpse of what is invading our home. In addition to receiving many diapers already from family and friends, Kari and I try to make it a point to pick up some when we go into town. I am still illusive as to how our newborn is going to make messes in all these diapers, but I keep hearing you can't have enough diapers.

Our home has been transforming into a baby ready home because crunch time is upon us. We have approximately 44 days until our titles officially change to Mommy and Daddy. The excitement of having a child has yet to subside. Often times you will hear us say, "We are ready to meet our little boy."

The last several months have been an amazing growing experience for both of us. My love for my wife has always been strong and grows daily, but each day throughout this pregency my love for my wife has grown. There isn't a minute I would not want to spent with her and at camp that is almost possible (to an extent). I am so blessed and awed by God for blessing me with such an amazing woman.

Over the past several days, my family has been dealing with my Pa Pa (pronounced Paw paw) who is currently in the hospital. They found fluid on his lungs last week and said he would be going home this Monday, but that changed. Yesterday evening I recieved a message from my uncle that said my grandfathers lung had collapsed. Please keep him and my Ma Ma in your prayers.

I hope everyone has had a great week. God Bless.

Playing Catch Up & It's The First Day of Camp

Catch Up: Kari and I were blessed by the Highland Lakes Camp staff and several close friends who joined us at a baby shower several Sunday's ago. It was awesome to visit, catch up and take a moment at camp before summer to relax and celebrate the upcoming birth of our son. We want to thank each of you (most have already received "thank you" notes thanks to Kari) for the wonderful gifts, the time you spent and your friendship.

Kari and I went to the doctor on Wednesday of last week. Baby Hellums is getting bigger and continues to kick all night long. It is pretty cool to just watch the movements and even more amazing to feel him kicking or moving around inside his Mommy.

Last week was Summer Missionary Team (SMT) training. About 50 college students come out to camp and serve for 12 weeks doing jobs that include (but is not limited to): cleaning toilets, life guarding, doing dishes, making camp videos, selling stuff, etc. This is a short list, but not only do I get to oversee the production on campus, I have an opportunity to direct the Public Relations (PR) staff along side our director, Danny. At this point we are doing great on our calendar; one video completed and one scheduled to be completed by weeks end (the famous "rules video"). It is such an awesome experience to meet and work along side students who have a passion serving Christ.

Camp: As I mentioned, this was the first day of camp. Meaning we have our first big group of students out here. Summer is here. I have only been on staff two months and I have to say, "my job is awesome!" For those of you who don't know, I like to work hard. I said it today, "If I didn't have to have a day off, I wouldn't," not because I don't want to spend time with my wife or my family (because I enjoy that as well), I just really enjoy my job. Everyday is something exciting and new; which is very refreshing for me. An added bonus, it just so happens, that I get to eat almost all meals with my wife and sometimes she gets to help me out with my job. God is awesome!

One story (for Alan):
"I ruined one pink work shirt with blood on it, tore a hole in it, and lost a staff member to an injury."
Today we moved a carport. I don't know to many people who can say they moved a carport till today. It is similar to the one pictured minus the siding. Basically it is large enough to park a RV underneath. Myself and seven other guys were charged to move one of these by lifting it and moving it about 30 feet. Things were going well, besides the large amount of weight until some decided to yell, "drop it!" I am not sure who said it, but there was no "1, 2, 3," hence, there was an injury. The production specialist, Brandon, had the carport slide down his ankle. Thankfully his foot was not caught underneath, but rather he pulled it out before that could happen. Enough damage had been done that he got a trip to the ER and learned it was only a major bruise. However it did swell to the size of a tennis ball. A man short, we eventually got the carport moved into place. Now I can say, "I moved a carport; with my bare hands."

I hope everyone is doing well. Cassie, thanks for the wonderful words. We miss you guys and look forward to another visit to Texas. God bless. Until next time...(hopefully sooner than last time).

Thursday Update

Yesterday I completed the CPR/AED/First Aid training course without to much problem. It was an all day process filled with video instruction, teacher demonstrations and practicing some of these life saving applications.

Kari went to the doctor concerning Baby Hellums for our scheduled appointment. This will be one of the few that I miss. She said the results for the gestational diabetes were fine and everything else looked great. Besides a little back pain, Kari and baby are doing great. It is still very exciting to me that God is forming and weaving a life within my wife. Each day brings something new and Kari and I are both very excited.

Last night I had my first thoughts along the lines of, "Awe man, how am I going to react when my son gets hurt?" I recently hurt my foot and it is scraped and bruised; as I dodged hot water in the shower I was overcome with fear for my child. This pain I was feeling in my foot could one day be a pain my only child has to overcome one day. I winced through the pain, but feared watching or the thought of my son experiencing any similar experience.

I took a moment before bed and was reminded of the following verse, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full and well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place" (Psalm 139:14-25 NIV). Not only is God "wonderfully" making a precious gift for Kari and I, but He is in charge. He knew, knows and will continue to know our son before we even knew he was there. What a thought. This squashed much of the "fear" I was having previous, because I know that ultimately God is in charge because our son is His creation.

Every morning I have an opportunity to have chapel with the Highland Lakes staff. Every aspect of this morning time is "church." We meet, sing praises to God, discuss God's word, encourage one another, etc. (it is a great way to start the morning). Currently, we are preparing for the summer and reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan. He compares his fatherhood and his desire for his children "only a faint echo of God's great love" (pg. 53). What a concept that I look forward to.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Work is going well. There is always something to do, from cleaning to setting up I am always busy (it is great!).

God Bless and take care.

It's Friday...Not Really, Sorta

Today is my Friday because tomorrow I have Sunday off. Right now, Kari is on her way home from Milano and I am hanging out with Brandon and Carter in the PR Shack. The new PR Shack is going to be located in the new Miles Auditorium (pictured to the right). Currently we are preparing the floors in the new PR Shack for the move in. Time flies when you are at camp and sometimes you don't even know what day it is.

Kari and Baby's first shower was today. I have not got all the details, but she said she had a wonderful time and is thankful for all the gifts given. I am looking forward to seeing and hanging out with my wife in about an hour.

I hope that everyone had a blessed week. God Bless.

Not Your Every Day Week @ Camp

The past five days might have been some of the most physically challenging days I have had in recent years. I do confess, I am not in the best shape possible, but the Rope/Challenge Course training kicked my rear.

Highland Lakes Camp has an amazing low and high ropes course. These elements are used throughout the year, but mainly in the fall and spring. Somehow I have overlooked some of these elements (the entire low ropes course!) and am very impressed. Swinging log, nitro swing and the meat grinder are just a few of the challenges you or your group can tackle.

After five days I learned a few things: A. I don't like pole climbing 25'. B. I don't like pole climbing 25'. C. I don't like pole climbing 25'. I did not certify on the highs (thanks Stine), but did complete the course for belay and lows training. I have not received the test scores yet, but felt good about the test.

After five o'clock I was back to my regular duties, taking care of guest needs and cleaning the dining hall. Living and working at camp still seems like a dream. We are enjoying each day and are thankfully to serve at such an amazing place. Please keep us in your prayers as we get geared up for summer (Baby and camp).

Wednesday morning, Kari and I had a date on the front porch. Three hours before sunrise there was a meteor shower. We got to see 4 falling stars and enjoyed the cool morning breeze (we were up at 5:30am not 3:30!). Kari is almost 28 weeks and doing great. Baby Hellums continues to kick daily and is getting bigger. The other day Kari felt him move her ribs; oh, she was thrilled about this (wink, wink)!

I hope that you all had a great week. God Bless and take care.

Two Year Anniversary

Two years ago today, Kari and I said, "I do." We had a blast at our wedding. It was a day that we were surrounded by many loved ones and the day Brother Jimmy gave Kari her nickname Karemy. It has been suggested that we name our first born Karemy, but I think we are going to pass.

We are going to mainly just hang out at the house and spend time together. No huge dinner plans or movie night, just a little good old fashion hanging out time. We might put a few wedding pictures into a wedding book, but there's no telling how the day will go.

Speaking of anniversaries, Happy Anniversary to Stan and Windy B. We hope that you guys have a great day too.

Other news: Our baby is kicking ALL the time. Last night my mom, Big Momma, came over and she was able to feel him kick, she was very excited. It is so amazing to be able to feel our baby moving and kicking daily.

God Bless and have a great Tuesday.

Baby’s First Teddy Bear

“Someone from Missourah loves me.”
Yesterday in the mail our son received his first Teddy Bear from Aunt Kim. Technically it is the second “bear” he has received (the first bear he received was an Alaskan bear, very cool), but this guy is a “teddy bear.” He is wearing the blue shirt with the above quote and a diaper. He has the classic teddy bear look and custom made for baby boy Hellums.

I got to thinking why I found this moment so significant and I think it stems from a stuffed animal I received from my Granny. I am not sure how old I was, but as a Christmas gift from my Granny I received a skunk. Thankfully this skunk did not stink. I was not like Linus, but my skunk did help me fall asleep at night.

Another significant stuffed animal is a bear from FAO Schwartz in New York City. I am not sure when Kari and I bought him, but he is a very fluffy and soft dark brown bear. The bear does not sleep with us, but can be found on our bed or the guest bed from time to time.

Each of these items left lifelong impressions on me and created wonderful memories. I am looking forward to our baby creating memories and these bears will likely be some of his first memories. What an amazing thought!

Do you have a stuffed animal that brings back a memory?

Have a great Tuesday. God Bless.

Good Morning Texas Independence Day!

On March 2, 1836, Texans celebrated the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence. Happy Texas Independence Day!

Baby Stuff: Kari has been feeling him move around now for weeks, but I have not been able to feel anything. Saturday night at about 11pm, he was moving around a bunch. I watched intently in the general area he was moving and saw him move Kari’s belly. At this point I knew I could feel him kick. A few minutes later I was able to feel our baby kick several times.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. God Bless.

Breaking News: It’s a Boy!

As most of you know already, Kari and I have announced we are having a boy. Thanks to Insert Title Here and Facebook, the information is easily disseminated. Here is a peek at what happened yesterday:

Wednesday morning Kari and I slept till about ten and Kari was craving a sausage kolache. We went to the one place we know that makes great kolaches, Donut Palace in Pflugerville. With time to spare, we ate breakfast and also planned a trip to say hello to our friend Herb.

At about one o’clock we headed to the hospital. Kari drank the required 20 plus ounces and we arrived before our 1:30pm appointment. At about 2:30pm and two restroom breaks later, we finally saw the ultrasound tech. There my wife confessed she could not hold it and had emptied her bladder. The tech was very forgiving and even said, “Don’t worry; it will fill back up by the time this is over.”

We were in the room for about an hour. We saw almost all of Baby’s growing body. The images I enjoy the most are shots of the bones and than seeing the skin forming around the bone. The details on these ultrasounds are amazing (although the attached prints aren’t that great). The weaving of life in my wife’s tummy is very awesome.

Our baby boy is 11 ounces (don’t ask me how they know that) and a few days older than what was speculated. This will not change the current due date of July 20th. His heart beat ranged from 150 to 160 beats per minute. We counted the four chambers of the heart, 10 little toes and 10 little fingers.

He moved the entire time. At one point he was opening and closing his mouth. He was doing flips, kicking and raising his arms up and down. The ultrasound tech even had trouble getting a few shots he was moving so much.

The ultrasound appointment was completed and we headed to the monthly checkup. Our doctor was out yesterday so we met Dr. Campbell. She talked to us briefly and checked baby’s heartbeat and we were out the door.

At this point it was already 5pm. With plans to meet my Dad and Donna at Patsy’s Cowgirl Café we headed south. We arrived in south Austin and headed to Target for some baby registering. Kari and I spent about 45 minutes shooting various items from pacifiers to strollers.

At about 7:00pm we arrived at Patsy’s Cowgirl Café to meet my Dad and Donna. They greeted us with gift for our baby boy, an Amarillo Gorillas hockey T-shirt. We enjoyed the conversation, dinner and a show with them and headed home about 9:00pm (Patsy’s Cowgirl Café review to come). By the time we got home, we were beat. I quickly posted the below and went to bed.

Thanks for all your prayers and support. God Bless.

We're Having a Boy!

Click on the picture to make it bigger.Sorry for the delay. News and info to come tomorrow...Time for bed! Did I say we're having a boy?

Pre-Baby News

Today Kari and I are headed to the doctor to see Baby. Kari is really looking forward to dreading drinking 20 ounces of water and then holding it for an hour before the appointment. It should be an interesting hour since she usually uses the restroom at least 10 times an hour.

We are very excited about today’s appointment because we will learn the sex of Baby Hellums. Thank you so much for all your voting on the poll. Later this afternoon (4ish) we will officially announce if Baby is a boy or a girl and release new Baby pictures; stay tuned to Insert Title Here.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers. God Bless

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Tuesday Baby News

On Saturday, February 7th at approximately 10:50 pm, Kari received two swift hits in the belly. Baby delivered the first hit, the smaller of the two and than closed with a shocking hit making Kari exclaim, “Wow, that was a shock!” I asked Kari what it felt like and she replied, “It felt like someone was poking me, but from the inside." WOW, I can’t even imagine how amazing and strange that would be. This was the first major movement by Baby to date.

Kari is now experiencing daily movements by Baby Hellums, but mostly occurring late at night. About midnight on Sunday night, Kari was actually able to feel the movement with her hand. I tried to catch a bit of the movement, but missed out.

This new phase of the pregnancy has now made me a little more anxious about February 18th. I have being doing very well mentally about not being to consumed with thinking about that appointment, but since these movements have started it is becoming harder. Kari is now experiencing weekly morning sickness, but weekend reprieves.

Other News: Insert Title Here occasional participates in blog tours and is proud to announce this week begins the Valentines Blog Tour. I signed up for this tour sometime in January and forgot to mention it to Kari. These books are love and marriage related and so I received a text message from my wife stating, “Just got a bunch of marriage books in the mail, are we ok?” I laughed out loud to myself and responded, “Its part of the blog tour, LOL!” It was a pretty funny moment. So, stay tuned for the Valentines Blog Tour.

Ever Put Hand Soap on Your Toothbrush?

As I was getting ready to take Kari to the hospital this morning for an upper abdominal ultrasound, I stood in front of the mirror and dispensed our hand soap on to my toothbrush. I guess I woke up or the size and color was wrong, but suddenly I realized what I was doing. I vigorously washed off my toothbrush with hot water before applying some toothpaste (I guess my toothbrush is clean now).

We headed for the car because the appointment was at 7:30am and my start time was 8:30am; plenty of time to have the scan, get Kari home and than go to work (or so I thought). I had a satchel with me and so I reached for the back seat door handle, but came up empty handed because it wasn’t there. I was attempting to open the backseat of a short bed pickup truck, not our vehicle. Kari asked, “Are you ok to drive?” I replied, “sure, I think.” I walked over to the right vehicle and we were on our way to the hospital.

The OBGYN wanted Kari to have an upper abdominal ultrasound to make sure everything was working properly in the liver, kidneys, etc. We checked in at 7:03am, but did not go back till about 8:00am. I was not worried about work because I had given a proper warning of my tardiness, but it was in the back of my mind. I was able to watch the ultrasound and see Kari’s organs. It was highly interesting.

Kari asked, “Can we see Baby?” The ultrasound operator replied, “I was going to surprise you with that. We will wrap this up and check on Baby.” I was excited with anticipation. If you recall, the last time we saw Baby, he or she was the size of a grain of rice. On Tuesday, Kari and I got to hear the heartbeat which sounded like, “whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.” That was very exciting.

Mr. Ultrasound operator, asked, “If we had seen the baby since our first ultrasound,” and we replied, “no.” He said, “OK, than I will let you take the first picture of baby!” WOW, what an awesome overwhelming excitement enveloped me. I took hold of the instrument and pressed down against Kari’s tummy. A head popped up on the screen, than arms, a body and a pair of legs. I am pretty sure Baby waved at me. He pointed out the nose, lips and than inquired, “Are you guys going to find out if it is a boy or a girl?” We looked at one another and replied, “Yes!” He smiled and said, “Alright, let’s see what we can find...”

Since this wasn’t the official ultrasound scheduled on February 18, 2009, we are going to wait on the findings of Mr. Ultrasound operator till than, so stay tuned to Insert Title Here for the official announcement.

Tune in tomorrow for Friday Movie Pick. God Bless

Future Christmas’: Part III

Our Christmas’ are about to change for good. Baby is planning to arrive in mid-July, so Christmas 2009 we will have a 5 month old with us. We are very excited to beginning our family and look forwarding to the many challenges of raising a child.

We have been talking/dreaming about what it will look like next year. On my side of the family, baby will be the first great-grandchild and first grandchild/nephew or niece to most of my family members. I know Uncle Aaron and Uncle Matt are very excited about becoming uncles. On Kari’s immediate side of the family, baby will make grandchild number three and great-grandchild number 23 (I think, I lost count).

Kari and I have talked about gift giving to our child differently than how we grew up. Both Kari and I experienced overwhelming amounts of gifts, which we are both thankful for, but are considering gifting differently. We haven’t completely worked out the details, but hope it will not encourage materialism and rather a celebration of life, family, friends and Christ. We’ll see how that works out or if it works at all.

I hope that you have enjoyed this Christmas Journey. For the first part check out: Reminiscing Christmas and Present Christmas.

We pray that each of you have had a blessed and joyous Christmas celebration. Merry Christmas from Jeremy, Kari and Baby. God Bless.

Baby Info

Baby is doing good, much bigger than the last time Kari and I went to the doctor. Baby’s heartbeat was blinking away on the screen today and the doctor said things look well. We had a few questions and the doctor sent us on our way. We scheduled our second trimester ultrasound for February 18, 2009 and we’ll be looking forward to learning baby’s sex on this date.

The doctor did tell us that the morning sickness will be subsiding in the next couple weeks, which is very good news. Please continue to keep Kari, baby and I in your prayers.

God Bless.

Vacation and Such…

Insert Title Here has been neglected for the past few days because we were on a “vacation.” Our camping plans were scraped for an obvious reason and after Wednesday morning’s low temperature, I am thankful we weren’t camping.

We weren’t going to do anything, but on a whim Sunday evening, we decided to drive out to Milano and escape the big city. I don’t remember the last time I slept in, laid on the couch all day watching TV and ate good food throughout the day. I am a little surprised at how little there is to watch during the day and I am super tired of the “drive-by” media, including: Fox News, CNN, CNN Headline, and MSNBC (sitting around and speculating the news all day gets old and they get paid for it).

Seriously, that is about all I did for 3 days. The third night got interesting though. Kari was having a great Wednesday and cooked some amazing spaghetti. All was well till about 10 o’clock. We were getting to bed at a decent hour because we were going to head to Highland Lakes for a Hot Hearts meeting the next morning. I am not sure of the exact order of events, but Kari threw up dinner. I attended to her and tried to do anything to help. Most of my words were encouraging, but I am starting a list of things not to say:
“We should probably change your diet.” Between vomit sessions, while she hung her head over the vomit bowl.
It was probably, no, it was not the best thing to say at the moment. I went on to say something dumb a little later, but neither one of us can remember (that is a good thing). We stayed up till about 2am dealing with night “morning sickness.” I am not sure how much Kari slept, but I know I didn’t sleep well at all, so we decided to recover Thursday morning (slept till eleven!), instead of attending the meeting.

Please keep Kari in your prayers as the morning sickness is projected to last about 3 more weeks. Have a great weekend.

God Bless

Tuesday Baby News: Press Release 11/25/2008

Austin, TX – Earlier this afternoon Kari and Jeremy had an exciting doctor’s appointment. The couple recently announced that they were having a baby. “Shocked, but very excited,” Jeremy commented days after learning that he was going to be a father. Both were very anxious about today's appointment.

Kari has been struggling with a nasty cough and cold, but recently took some advice from new mother, Nicole, and is feeling much better. “I think the Vick’s on my feet worked,” Kari exclaimed concerning the new treatment method. After mentioning the new method to Kari, she was not thrilled with the idea of sleeping with socks on, but has been very thankfully since she has been feeling better.

Today Kari woke up with a tummy ache, but that didn’t stop her from making fresh eggs and breakfast sausage. Yesterday marked the end of her in classroom student teaching in Pflugerville. “I’m done with school,” Kari proclaimed in a recent phone conversation with her husband. The last remaining step in her Road to Graduation will be graduating on December 19th.

Today’s appointment marked Week 6 of the gestation period for Baby. Kari and Jeremy were excited to learn that all seems well with the pregnancy and Baby is approximitly 0.3 centimeters long. Dr. Leeth gave Kari a good bill of health and showed the couple Baby's heartbeat. "Wow, there is a little heartbeat inside of you," Jeremy leaned over and told his wife after the examination.

Kari is a bit disappointed because she thought she was 9 weeks along and almost out of the "morning sickness period." They couple was informed that Kari should expect the worst sickness at Week 8. Kari responses to said sickness, "Oh great!" The projected due date, according to Dr. Leeth, is July 20, 2009. The couple asks to, "please continue to keep us in your prayers."

For more news and information on Baby stayed tuned to Insert Title Here.

God Bless.

Mr. Nurse – Issue 1 – November 18, 2008

Kari has had a nasty cough since Monday and has not been sleeping well. I decided that I was going to go to the store and get something a pregnant lady can take to fix this cough. With a little help from Kari, I had a list of items.

Upon entering Wal-Mart, I became Mr. Nurse (imagine heroic music here). I altered my identity and wore a mask to protect my identity (and cause I love superheroes). Mr. Nurse whisked around Wal-Mart and got several items including: a humidifier, lemons and limes (I forgot the honey).

After I got home in my Mr. Nurse Super Secret Car, I was reminded that I forgot the honey, but otherwise got all the necessary items to begin the healing process of my wife. I set up the humidifier and watched Kari drink hot tea. We were in bed by 9pm and there was less coughing. She didn’t sleep perfect, but actually got a little sleep.

Hopefully Mr. Nurse has saved the day; or at least helped his wife somewhat, but we'll see…Mr. Nurse may return.

“Who you gonna call”…oh wait, that theme song has already been used…

Mr. Nurse…he’ll go to Wal-Mart and get what you need...and hopefully make you better!” That sounds good.

Post Mr. Nurse - Issue 1 - Kari and baby are doing fine; she is not very sick, but is seeing and smelling things that are making her want to vomit. Please keep us in your prayers. God Bless
